Australian Blue Gum to Combat Malaria

Fun Facts

Eucalyptus Globulus
The Blue Gum tree of Tasmania, Australia has long been known as an antimalarial, antiperiodic (preventing recurrence of symptoms), febrifuge and tonic.
The tree has been planted in malarial sections, and wherever planted the malarial condition has been changed, the disease germs destroyed and the atmosphere purified, the locality becoming healthful and sanitary.” (Ellingwood and Lloyd, 1898, p.192)
